THE FREIGHT BROKER LLC · SHIPPING RESOURCES
What do you need for a freight quote?
For a freight quote, send the pickup and delivery locations, commodity, packaging, dimensions, total weight, and shipping dates. Also describe loading access and any special services. The Freight Broker LLC uses these details to discuss service options and carrier availability.
1. Locations and facility access
Include city, state, and ZIP code for each stop. Identify businesses, residences, ports, rail ramps, and other facility types. Mention docks, forklifts, liftgates, appointments, and limited access. Add opening hours and a site contact when arranging the move.
2. Commodity and packaging
Describe what the freight is and how it is packaged. Include pallet or piece count, stackability, overhang, and handling restrictions. Disclose temperature or other special requirements before discussing equipment.
3. Dimensions and weight
Measure each handling unit including its packaging. Send length × width × height with units, plus gross weight including pallets. Mark estimates as estimates and confirm measurements before booking. Weight alone does not establish which service fits.
4. Dates and service requirements
Share your preferred pickup window, requested delivery date, and any flexibility. Distinguish an appointment from a guaranteed service requirement. Confirm the written quote, service scope, and applicable terms before booking.
5. Container details for drayage
Add the terminal, container size and type, cargo weight, availability date, release information, and last free day if known. Include live-unload or drop requirements and any empty-return instructions.
Before accepting the quote
- Check the lane, equipment, commodity, measurements, and dates.
- Confirm which fees and accessorial services are included.
- Ask what changes could affect the quoted amount.
- Confirm applicable carrier liability and any additional cargo coverage needs.
- Keep a copy of the quote and booking instructions.
Common questions
Can I request a quote if I am missing information?
Yes. Explain what you know and clearly identify missing or estimated details. We can discuss the next steps, but a reliable quote may require confirmed measurements and requirements.
Does the website form automatically send my request?
No. The current form prepares a message for your email app. You must review and send that email yourself. You can also email info@thefreightbroker.co or call (832) 299-5847.
How do I choose LTL versus full truckload?
Compare shipment size, packaging, handling needs, service requirements, and the quotes for your route. Smaller shipments may suit shared LTL capacity; larger shipments or dedicated requirements may warrant full truckload. There is no single pallet count that answers every case.
