THE FREIGHT BROKER LLC · SHIPPING RESOURCES
Less-than-truckload shipping
The Freight Broker LLC arranges less-than-truckload (LTL) freight for smaller shipments that share trailer capacity with other freight. Accurate shipment measurements and facility details help us discuss suitable options and reduce avoidable quote changes.
What to measure
Provide the length, width, and height of each pallet or handling unit, including the packaging. Include pallet weight in the shipment weight and tell us whether units are stackable. Describe the commodity rather than guessing a freight classification.
Tell us about both facilities
Does each location have a loading dock or forklift? Is either location residential or limited access? Is an appointment, liftgate, or inside service needed? These details can change the available service and price.
Prepare for collection
Confirm packaging and labeling requirements, the bill of lading, collection hours, and the services booked before pickup. Keep shipment records and photographs. Raise damage or delivery discrepancies promptly and follow the applicable carrier claim requirements.
What to send for a quote
- Pickup and delivery ZIP codes and facility types
- Commodity and number of pallets or handling units
- Dimensions and gross weight for each handling unit
- Stackability, dock or forklift access, and liftgate needs
- Pickup date, delivery appointments, and any other special services
Common questions
Can you quote a few pallets?
Yes, you can request an LTL quote for a smaller palletized shipment. Send the lane, commodity, dimensions, weight, dates, and access requirements so we can review options.
Why can an LTL invoice differ from the original quote?
Differences can arise from corrected dimensions or weight, commodity classification, or services not included in the original request. Ask for the written quote and applicable terms, and disclose requirements before booking.
